The idea - where modern comfort and historic grandeur meet.

At the turn of last century, it became obvious that more accommodation was needed in Seyðisfjörður to welcome the increasing number of tourists visiting the town. Plans were made for a new modern hotel on the outskirts of the village. A group of local women came up with a better idea. Why not use the grandiose historical buildings that stood empty and out of function. People in town had different opinions about the idea. Then Sigurjón Sighvatsson, Hollywood producer, joined the strong female force, helping to bring the concept of one hotel spread across multiple historical houses to life.

  • "Beautiful historic hotel in a quaint Icelandinc village, a great experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated with vintage furniture and super stylish, we loved it, and the facilities are excellent. please don’t be put off by other reviews mentioning you can hear the wooden floors when other guests are walking, it’s simply not the case and the peoperty is too charming to focus on these details, which are of course normal for a historic house. Truly enjoyable experience, would absolutely recommend."
